Foreigners Can Buy in Turkey
LAW ON AMENDMENT OF THE SOIL PROTECTION AND LAND USE LAW
According to the LAW ON THE AMENDMENT OF THE SOIL PROTECTION AND LAND USE, which entered into force on April 30, 2014, the limit on the minimum agricultural land sizes that foreigners could buy was set aside.
According to the law, varying according to each county and city in Turkey, foreigners can buy;
-
At least 50 decares of irrigated land,
-
At least 120 decares of dry land,
-
At least 10 decares of planted land and
-
At least 3 decares of greenhouse land.
Definitions:
Irrigated land: Lands, opened to irrigate with state investments or covered by irrigation project.
Dry land: It refers to the land that can not be irrigated by State investments or not covered by irrigation project and the need for plant water can only be met by natural rainfall.
Planted land: (Without regard to land properties) Lands, which has plants such as fruits, grapevines, hazelnuts, peanuts, roses, tea and similar trees, shrubs and bushes.
Greenhouse land: Land, which is cultivated by using advanced agricultural techniques and under covers made of glass, nylon or similar material in order to remove or reduce the negative effects of climate and other external influences.
